The much-anticipated new show World’s Most Amazing Walks sees beloved actor and avid rambler Robson Green setting out on a global walking journey - trekking through dramatic landscapes, historic trails and remote coastlines, meeting local experts, historians and fellow walkers along the way.  

In each of the eight episodes, Robson immerses us in compelling stories of heritage, nature, culture and personal reflection - from tracing Roman walls in England and walking the Danube, to exploring vineyards in Portugal and wandering through the Highlands of Scotland.

Hadrian’s Wall Path (England) 

Inside Episode 1 

In Episode 1, Robson returns to his roots and walks the legendary Hadrian’s Wall Path, a trail steeped in history that once marked the northern frontier of Roman Britain. Along the way, he visits ancient forts, ruins of Roman settlements (including the site of Vindolanda), reminisces about the iconic Sycamore Gap, and navigates moorland and ridges that have shaped both the landscape and national history.

Danube River (Austria, Germany, Slovakia & Hungary) 

Inside Episode 2 

In Episode 2, Robson explores Austria’s section of the River Danube, showcasing its diverse landscapes, from riverside towns and forest paths to ancient castles. He visits a Wagyu beef farm, discovers the famed Apricot Mile in the Wachau Valley with its PDO-protected apricots, and stops in Melk to admire the baroque Melk Abbey and its panoramic views of the river valley. 

What Macs Adventure Offers

Great Glen Way (Scotland) 

Inside Episode 4 

In Episode 4 of the series, Robson treks along the Great Glen Way - a dramatic 79-mile route running through the Scottish Highlands from Fort William to Inverness. The journey follows the geological fault that created the great chain of lochs (including the famous Loch Ness), passes through forests and canals, and offers sweeping mountain and waterside scenery.

You can choose from a variety of itineraries: the full classic 7–9-day trail, a shorter 5-day version that showcases the highlights from Fort Augustus to Inverness, or a “comfort” itinerary with more relaxed pacing and overnight stays with extra special touches.  

The route follows the scenic Great Glen Fault, connecting Fort William to Inverness along the iconic Caledonian Canal, tranquil lochs like the world-renowned Loch Ness, forests, and rolling Highland landscapes. Douro Valley (Portugal) 

Inside Episode 5 

In Episode 5, Robson heads to the stunning Douro Valley in Portugal - a land of terraced vineyards, ancient Roman heritage, soaring vultures, and traditional tile art (Azulejo). The episode blends nature, culture and heritage as Robson discovers how this valley became one of the world’s great wine regions, immersing himself in local customs and landscapes.

South West Coast Path & Jurassic Coast (England) 

Inside Episode 6 

In Episode 6, Robson explores the dramatic coastline of the Jurassic Coast in Dorset - a UNESCO World Heritage Site where every cliff tells a story, fossils tumble from ancient rocks, and the sea meets geological time. The walk isn’t just about scenery: Robson dives into fossil history, plunges into cold-water sea swims at places like Dancing Ledge, and winds down with watercolour painting by historic castles along the coast.

Camino Routes (Spain) 

Inside Episode 7 

In Episode 7, Robson takes on the iconic pilgrimage of the Camino de Santiago - one of the world’s most historic walking routes, winding through northern Spain across mountains, fields and historic towns. The show highlights the spiritual rhythm of the walk, the centuries of history embedded in the trail, and the community of pilgrims traversing it.  

What Macs Adventure Offers 

We offer itineraries for all seven of the main Spanish Camino routes, including the iconic Camino Francés - the most famous pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela. Beginning in St Jean Pied de Port, the Camino Francés crosses the Pyrenees into northern Spain and winds through regions such as Navarra, La Rioja, Castile y León, and Galicia, each offering its own landscapes, vineyards, medieval towns, and cultural heritage. You can choose to walk the full 490-mile (780 km) route or complete it in shorter stages, such as the popular final 100 km from Sarria to Santiago, which qualifies walkers for the Compostela certificate. We also offer the coastal Camino del Norte, the challenging and scenic Camino Primitivo, the Camino Portugués, and other major routes. 

The Camino is rich in history and symbolism. Along the way, you’ll pass Romanesque churches, grand cathedrals, ancient stone bridges, and historic towns like Pamplona, Burgos, León, and Sarria. Pilgrims collect stamps (sellos) in their credential from hostels, cafés, churches, and refuges, creating a special record of their progress, to be presented in Santiago’s Pilgrim Office.  

People choose to walk the Camino for many reasons: some are drawn by its spiritual or religious significance, others by the cultural heritage, the slow travel experience, or the chance to disconnect from daily life. Many walkers seek personal reflection, a fitness challenge, or simply the joy of meeting fellow pilgrims from around the world.
